ABOUT GUITNANGBAYAN ES

Head of School's Welcome,
GBES, being the key benefactor of elementary education in our community, empowered its teachers to make informed and localized decisions based on its clientele's needs; thereby, improving our educational system through the conduct of programs and projects abiding by the principles of TEA Governance. GBES unceasingly practices skillful financial management and efficient implementation of our basic education-learning continuity plan as we believe that an innovative problem solver needs those skills to accommodate our students’ needs.
GBES’ goal is to provide selfless service and relevant education to all our pupils, especially those belonging to underserved communities. The majority of our learners enrolled in the modular learning classes were being pushed into the corners and this gave our teachers strengthened efforts to implement our adapted learning modality to further reach our remote learners ensuring quality education amidst the crisis. This leadership mindset focuses on ensuring project development and GBES teachers work with our dependable stakeholders in our collaborative endeavor to provide the best service for the pupils, teachers, parents, and the community.
Sincerely,

Dr. PITSBERG B. DE ROSAS
Concurrent Officer-in-Charge & Public Schools District Supervisor

OUR MANDATE
The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency.
The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.
Our History

Guitnangbayan Elementary School is a complete and a non-central school located along GSIS Road, Guitnangbayan I, San Mateo, Rizal. It has a land area of 3, 380 m2. It was established in 1960 catering to two (3) barangays of San Mateo, Guitnangbayan I,
Guitnangbayan II and Dulong Bayan II. It is around 500 m from the Municipal Hall, Town Plaza and Parish Church.

Formerly, it was an annex of San Mateo Elementary School called Guitnangbayan Barrio School with two (2) teachers teaching Grades I and II. It was only in 1987 that it became a complete elementary school. To date, Guitnangbayan Elementary school has a total of 4,210 pupils with 98 passionate and dedicated teachers, 1 school principal, 2 school clerks, 2 school guards and 1 utility. Due to shortage of classrooms, the school resorted to the adoption of the double and single class program for kinder while the Grades one to Six pupils are adopting double shift classes.

Guitnangbayan Elementary School started as an annex of San Mateo Elementary School back in the early 80’s. In the latter years it was baptized as Guitnangbayan Barrio School spearheaded by the late Mrs. Aurora Vergara. While San Mateo Elementary School was a complete elementary school, Guitnangbayan remained three-room annex that catered up to fourth grade until 1987. It was Mr. Jose San Miguel, Jr. who requested the Sangguniang Bayan to change the name from Barrio School to Guitnangbayan Elementary School.

Guitnangbayan Elementary was then situated between farmlands and grazing lands of many farm animals. The children of these farmers and of a few fishermen were the first clientele of the fast growing school. The school buildings served not only as shelters but a new world of wonders to many generations since then.
